    I already did it in tmpgenc but i wanna a avi file in the end.

    Yes, you can do this in VirtualDub. Resize your file to something like 576x240, 640x240, or 720x240 and see if that helps.

    oK thanxs 4 the tip,

    but when i open this new resized avi file in vdub, it does not give me the bottom n the upper black fields in the image, n thatīs what I need. U see, when I open a avi 4:3 file it gives me that upper n bottom black field, actually I would like to increase this black fields withou havin to cut any parts of my image. Iīve done that loading the original file in tmpgenc n askin to make a 16:9 mpeg2. the problem is that I wanna my final file in avi n it takes a long time each conversio to mpeg2 n back to avi.

    VirtualDub won't show you the black bars since you just made it widescreen. But, once you encode the file with TMPGEnc, you should be able to see those black bars that you want.

  5. Adding black bars is known as letterboxing. You can resize and/or crop the movie in virtualdub, but you will have to letterbox it too.

    to crop i know how to do it, but it cuts a part of the image. Is there any way i could "squeeze" the movie without losin any part of the image, if so, how??
    N what is this letterboxing that u said iīll have to do it too???
