Whats a good dvd-rom, not with cd writer, just dvd reader preferably 16x and that is a cd-rom as well? I would like a black one to go with the rest of my computer but it doens't really matter. Whats should I get?

Liteon 16x is a good one, it is one of the fastest rippers.

Some other locks on a 2x speed for dual layer disc.

just my personal experience, I have 2 dd-rom that I bought on sale and they work fine for me no problems as of yet... the first one is already a year old and the second about 4 months now...so what I go for is the cheapest I could find....I hardly use the dvd rom drive to watch movie, I use my set top to do that.. I use the dvdrom drive mainly for data.. Iam starting to backup my data files like pictures...software that have more than 1 disc onto a dvd..

I have LG and it's ok... liteon is ok too... both are cheap and fast...

My problem is that I have only 3 Bays. In my first bay is a cd-rom, second is my cd-rw, and third is empty. I want to replace my cd-rom with a dvd-rom/cd-rom in the first bay and eventually a dvd writer in the 3rd bay. I'll get Liteon but only one that is also a cd-rom. Does Liteon even make them? What's a good website that I can buy it from because BestBuy.com doesn't have it and thats where I usually get my stuff. I looked at Pricewatch.com also but I think some of their products are shit. Again, what website should I buy it from? Does Liteon make dvd-rom/cd-rom combos? How much?

ALL DVD-ROM drives are also CD-ROM drives so you dont have to worry about that.
