I have been fortunately successful putting most DVD's into SVCD format on two CD-R's, which is great, because I don't want more then two CD-R's per movie, even if it does mean some quality loss. But the most I have ever put on one SVCD/ 80 min CD-R is about 806 MB's/mode 2, or 67 minutes of actual film time. The Bit-Rate for that much length of film was about 1525 kbps. I was wondering how much worse the picture quality would be if I tried to fit a 120 minute SVCD on ONE CD-R. Being that the bitrate would be approximately 700 or so, would that at least give me VHS-like quality? I guess at that bitrate, it really wouldn't be an SVCD, but more considered a VCD, right? Being that I am using DVD2SVCD/TMPGenc, and it takes sometimes 14 hours to encode, I haven't tested it.
But if I did try it, should I change the output from MPEG-2, to MPEG-1, or would it not make a difference either way? If anyone knows, please help me out on this. Thanks
