Having a few problems with disks skipping in some player and not playing at all in others.
I have ripped and re encoded movie vobs, re authored with dvd maestro, updated ifo with ifoupdate and vts, stuck the updated ifo and new vob's back with the rest of the dvd and burnt with nero (udf).
I've used the same media that works in all my players normally....until now. So I know its not the disks.
What happens is:
Plays fine in PC, direct play and selecting VIDEO_TS.IFO.
Plays in sharp 740 but skips really quickly about 6 times before starting the disk (straight after the drawer closes) but plays fine after that.
PS2 and an other stand alone player, recognises the dvd shows the play time as 00:00:00 and stays there....cant do anything with it either.
I'm thinking there may be some issues when updating ifo's and replacing files.....as this is all new to me. Do I need to use other programs in the process, other than updateifo or ifoedit that is? I've seen some tutorials suggest pulldown before authoring with Maestro....is this for the subs or something else? Does it matter is the subs are remove completely? Does updateifo update the bup from the original disk or the one from the re encoded movie, as you have to show the path to both the original ifo and the re encoded one and only says "bup updated"?
Any advice is welcome.
