  1. Hi every one
I have a svhs VCR and a sony TRV720 DV camera, which I am using for capturing VHS. I used V-dub along with Huffy codec and I couldn't communicate with the DV camera. Now I am using adobe premier and I am getting the video fine but I am not getting any sound not even in the DVcamera (when the signal is coming from the VCR)
I connected the VCR to the camera using a SVHS cable only. Do I need to connect a different cable to get the sound the DV camera. Somebody please help

    Yes, S-VHS is video only.

and also after I capture how do I transfer the video from Premier to TMPG to convert to svcd. also I was reading in one of the posts that if I use premier 6.5 I don't need Tmpg to convert to Mpeg2

  5. The 720 should have come with a dubbing cable that has 3 RCA jacks on one end (yellow=video, white=left audio, red=right audio) and a 1/8" miniplug on the other. This is a custom job, as it has *4* conductors in the miniplug instead of the common 3 you see in stereo headphones and such.

You need to use this cable for the audio, and then the S-video for the video. I don't know if the jack is set up so that you could use a more common stereo 1/8" to 2 RCA adapter cable for the audio only. That would have been a good design decision. I will test it tonight.
