  2. You need to use FlaskMPEG or another program which converts to VCD (like DVDx, I think). Read the guides on http://www.doom9.org/, you need more information in order to convert!

yes, remember this site is called "vcdhelp". You guess right, you'll find pretty good guides here.
You may start with the FAQ and Sefy's newbie guide .

  4. Please look to the links on the left, esp under DVD Rip. There are also good guides at http://www.flexion.org/video/DVDConv/DVD2AVI/index.html and http://www.doom9.org. Converting a DVD to a x(S)VCD has a lot of steps and some people have trouble with certain parts of the conversion. So you might also want to look at DVDx (one step program to make VCDs, can d/load under tools) or DVD2SVCD (one step program to make SVCDs, guide is at http://www.doom9.org newest ver can be d/loaded from dvd2svcd.doom9.net).

Luck, let me add that encoding MPEGs is very cpu intensive Depending on your CPU and settings to encode a 2hr movie can take from 2hrs to 24hrs.

  5. Probably take a long time. I have 1.1gighz amd w/12x dvd and it takes 2:30 for 50 minutes when just doing a vcd. I usually have my bitrate settings 1600+, probably why it takes so long.
