  1. hey, i just got a new TV Card it's um a "878TV" or so it says, i've inserted it into a free PCI slot, and ran windows and stuff, the program installs, works ok, i select my region and that, it's all fine, then it scans for channels and can't pick up a thing, i'm pretty sure this is to do with my set up... in our house my dad has it set up so that Sky TV [uk satellite box], anyway, so Sky can be accessed anywhere in the house, and all normal network/terrestrial channels also, we have 3 VCR's in the house and all the TV in the ciruit that come after a VCR can pick it up, yeah? well i'm sitting here with a VCR that's all connected up here, RF OUT has the lead that's running from the previous TV/VCR to it [to continue the picture circuit] and RF IN, runs to the TV next door, [that TV being teh end of the circuit] well i have my TV Card set up so that the cable runs from Line In to the TV Card, and my coaxcil cable [sp?] runs from the TV Card to the RF In of the video so in thoery it can pick up the picture, ya? well um, unless i've totally screwed up here, can anyone please suggest or give me an idea of what i'm doing wrong? thanks!...

  3. yeah! that's what's making me confused, it came with NO instructions at all! if you ignore all the TV circuit stuff, i'm just wondering, to get a picture out of a vcr onto the tv card, the cable needs to run from the TV Card to the... *** slot/port/bit in the vcr?

    Hi
The same way u would connect a TV.
    1) By co-ax from the VCR (either straight in or split the tv cable)
    2) By scart adapter. (then svideo or composite lead into tv card)

With method 2 u need seperate audio leads connected to the scart adapter.

  6. Uh. I wish I could help, but the story COMPLETELY confused me LOL. If that's what you wanted, well done! Mind you, the RF coax is like the worst thing you can use. If you can use composite or S-video, it'll give much better results. Also, you might want to look for the generic bt8x8 drivers for your card. Good luck with this wiring mind-blower.
