if the dvd player has a onboard dts decoder and you have hooked up the 6 out to your 6 input on the reciever AND if there is dts audio on the dvd - yes

if the dvd player has dts out digital and you hooked that to your dts digital in on your reciever (assuming your reciever can decode dts - it should be marked) AND if there is dts on the dvd - yes

  4. The 6out refers to some DVD players (such as the Sony NS500V) that have an onboard 5.1 decoder and 6 RCA-type jacks on the back that you can plug speakers into without needing a seperate decoder/receiver. So basically, instead of the standard two red/white|right/left RCA that you normally see on the back your everyday player, you see six ports.. left/right/sleft/sright/lfe/center. It's similar to many computer sound cards (esp the older ones) where you would need two or more 2.5mm outs on a soundcard that went into multiple speaker sets (one set plugged into front jack, one set plugged into surround jack) or a speaker could do surround with the multiple inputs.
