    Hey

    Anyone know of a good all round filter to clean up VHS. Most of the tapes are quite good but I would like it too look better. I have mucked around with a few filter's eg Flaxen VHS, Smart Smoother Hi quality ,Internal sharpen within virtual dub.

    I use virtual dub capture at 352x 288 (PAL) I get quite good results I just want them to be better.

    Any tips would be greatly appreciated

    If anyone uses flaxen vhs can you recommend a good setting for all round purpose

    Cap both fields!

    Use AVISynth the filters are harder to work with but have better results from working in the YUV domain. Personally I have seen some great work on both PeachSmmother ( Combined temporal/spatial softener with motion masking ) GuavaSmmoth ( rainbow remover ) also Blockbuster ( adding noise for DVD's, but also contains a great shapening filter ).

    Season to taste.
