  1. Not sure how to describe it.

When playing a backup DVD-R movie at 4500kb/s during black scenes in the movie the screen has little boxes that flicker and jump around on the black area? is this normal for a 4500k/s rip? How do I get rid of it?

Im using pioneer A04 and a Sony DVP-NS715 player.

  2. Most retail DVDs maintain an average bitrate of around 4500. So if you are seeing compression artifacts at this bitrate then your settings are suspect.

    Hope this helps.

  3. Heres how I ripped the video:

Ripped the vob files and .d2v using cladDVD XP1.3 ripper.
Here are the settings I used:
I clicked on options, clicked on framserve. Chose the Force Film option.
Video settins: YUV and TV checked
    Channel Format: auto select
    D.Range contorl: normal
No macrovision and Light Key Search checked.
The audio doesnt matter because I use the VOB files to get .ac3 using DVD2AVI later.

Then I load TMPEng. Load the .d2v file. Use stream type "ES Video only" to get the video. CBR at 4000-5000 most movies. And use motion estimate search in the settings. Everything else is default.

The I use IFOedit to author the movie and the ac3 audio. Get vts sectors and burn.

    Any help?
