  1. I have a bunch of captured videos, but I had to record them in parts.

    Since the framerate isn't exactly the same (ie. 25.00001, 25.00002), VirtualDub won't let me join them.

    I don't want to convert them, and then join them, because I'll lose quality.

    Are there any programs that'll let me join AVIs with different framerates?

  2. Why not use Virtual Dub to change the framerate of both files to 25 FPS (exactly) and then join them.

    justified,

    TWO things you could try:
    VDUB:
    * load in your first clip
    * set framerate to 25
    * SaveAS new file, call it A.AVI
    * now, load in your second AVI clip
    * set framerte to 25
    * SaveAS new file, call it B.AVI

    Now, open A.avi and then Append your second AVI, B.AVI

    The above should work. Can't say you wont or will have problems
    after you've changed the rates though.

    OR. . .

    do a search for this file: avifrate101.zip

    . . . "AVI [FR] Changer 1.01 by [Blight]"

    After you've found this app,
    load in your both your AVI files, and change framerate to nearest
    rate ie, you clips were 25.00001, etc., those you should change to 25
    but w/out any ZEROs etc.
    WARNING!! don't try and change to 23.976 or higher. Always choose
    nearest rate, which in your case, again, is 25.
    So, change to 25 for both AVIs.

    Since this is SOO close in frame rate, wouldnt the DOS copy command work for it? Or do you all think that would cause a problem?

    example

    copy /b file.avi+file2.avi result.avi

  5. I always thought changing the framerate in VirtualDub or any other program and resaving it would diminish the quality. Is that not true?

  6. Not if we are talking about such a "big" difference.
