  1. I have 16 strips of video that I want to put side by side. I have tried to do this, but Premiere just puts them one after the other, and I have no control over screen position. Anyone know how to do this?

  2. side by side,,one after the other??,english is my second lenguage, but still both descriptions that you made sound the same for me,if you can explain better what you are trying to do,maybe someone can give you some tips..in my case,I'm almost done with my premiere classes,I am very impress with Premiere 6.0,yesterday I finish my first project and I am so happy with my videoclip,3 minutes long, mixing sound and clips, transitions, etc, etc.
Maybe this can help a little, when you view a clip, you use "open" or "import" ? also using the source window help a lot about placing the clip in a specific tack,,tack1,track2,etc,insert and overlay, also make a difference....if you drag a clip from the source window also allow you to place the clips in track1 or track2.

I don't recommend the Premiere 6.0 book made by Adobe, classroom in a book is a joke, there are many missing details that drive you nuts,I can't beleive Adobe don't review their own book.
    Good luck.

  3. As I understand it, you want to creat a split screen for all 16 clips. Perhaps in 4X4 grids. This is not a easy task. There is some guide on Premiere in this site. But it only mentions 1x2. Basically it uses some transition trick and the aspect ratio is messed up. Anything above 1x2, I don't know. Maybe someone else can help.

If you are familiar with Avisynth, it might be a little easier. You can read Truman's guide on Avisynth. I did some 2x2 split with Avisynth and it works great and with correct aspect ratio. 4x4 maybe too much for my TV.

  4. stack them directly over one another on seperate tracks. Use a picture-in picture effect to position each layer to your liking. Render - rama and there ya go.
