  1. Well I have a movie that I would like to put on a cd. It's saved as a divx (avi) movie and is 640 x 352 and 23.976fps. The movie is a little over 92 minutes in length and about 734mb in size.

I decided to mess around with it for a bit and apprearantly successfully burned it onto a 700mb cd after 16 hrs. I tried to play the movie in my computer dvd player and standalone but it wouldn't work so I figured I screwed something up. I have read all the guides on here on the site but don't know the right way to burn the file onto a cd. Should I burn the file as svcd or vcd and would the movie even fit onto a cd. I really don't have a clue what I'm doing and would like some help.

My dvd player that I have is a Toshiba sd1200 and my computer dvd is a liteon 16x.

  2. Try spliting the movie into two sections using the TMPG encoder and convert it as a vcd then try it and see if it works. Use the Divx to VCD guide to help you.

Using TMPG try and encode a small section of your file onto a CD-RW and then save the settings you used. See if this will play, If it does you can then encode the full film knowing it will play.

Why do you want it all on one CD?....you would get excellent quality with a film of that size (as long as the source is good) by splitting it and using 2 CDs.
I'm sure you already had a look, but the guides are really good for trouble shooting and advice.

    Good luck.
