I have this anamorphic SVCD that unfortunately doesn't play well on both my hardware and software players. (basically the anamorphic tag seems to be ignored and the picture is streched vertically). So I would like to :
- either fix the anamorphic tag (no idea how to do that)
- or resize the whole thing to 4:3
So I created a DVD2AVI project, saved, opened it up in TMPGENC, source is 4:3 (because anamorphic tag is also ignored by tmpgenc), output is also 4:3, resize to 480x350 (according to fitcd), with tmpgenc kindly adding black bars up and down in order to make a SVCD compliant file at 480x480.
This works just fine, BUT I am still not sure if I I'm resizing to the right height (350), because i also had to crop the image top, right and bottom (the original had video artifacts on those borders.
Could someone PLEASE post the formula to calculate what should be the correct height of a 'squeezed' anamorphic 480x480 svcd. (fitcd is giving me a headache).
Thanks!
Jean
