i have a bunch of old tv episodes i've been trying to seperate (by 80 minutes) then join each group individually so i can make several vcds. i've converted every .avi to .mpg and now i'm trying to join the first set of 10 files. when i have it setup as this site says to under "mpeg tools" every 3rd file in the set will give me an error saying "File _ _ _ _ _ _.mpg is not compatible with other MPEG file." so i tried just taking the file out and doing it with the 9 on there, then it said the same error for the new file in the 3rd spot. anyone know why i'm getting this error and how to fix it so i can get this working?

Why don't you burn to VCD without joining them?

I don't know about Ulead, but with Nero you just drag as many mpegs as will fit the disc.

nero won't let you design menus and chapters though, plus it always takes forever to burn off of nero and ulead only takes a min or two.

That is true about the menus, but Nero burns as fast as your writer! I think you are confusing Nero as burner with Nero as encoder.

well i tried burning a vcd off of nero once and it took a little over an hour with my 32X burner, maybe it was just a one time freak coincidence? who knows but i've never had that problem using ulead.

  8. If Nero took that long it is because it reencoded the video like banjazzer said (at 32 speed, shouldn't take much more than a couple of minutes). I have not used DVD movie factory. but I have used Ulead DVD workshop and you can add multiple mpeg's in that. I would assume you could do the same in movie factory.
