  1. I've had some problems after installing the new nimo codec pack.

Previously when I ripped a DVD, I demuxed the video and audio to a seperate file, which gave me an m2v file and an ac3 file. These loaded directly into tmpg via the wizard.

Now after installing the new codec pack it won't recognize the ac3.

Obviously this is a codec which I have deleted or overwritten. I have no idea how to get this tmpg compatability back.

If I am converting an avi with ac3, it will load in no problem, it's only when I have a seperate ac3 file.

Thanks in advance for any info.

What happened when you did what this guide told you to do?

  3. Thanks for your reply

This is not the problem, I can convert the ac3 to wav and then load it into Tmpg.

Tmpg used to accept the ac3 file and encode from that. Which meant a saving of hard drive space. Also when i convert the ac3 to wav the sound seems quite low.

has anyone got any ideas what needs to be installed to allow Tmpg to read the ac3 file.

    Thanks again for your reply

  4. Try increasing DirectShow Multimedia File Reader priority to something like 4 or 5 (TMPGEnc->Option->Environmental Setting...->VFAPI plug-in tab) - it helps when your AC3 sound is being rendered through DirectShow filters.

  5. Thanks for the idea kewl but that didn't work either.

r u able to insall directshow filters on their own.

I just wish I hadn't updated the nimo pack.

That will teach me, If it ain't broke don't fix it.

any other ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I do not understand. What happened when you select File-->MPEG Tools....-->Multiplex tab. Does not the audio input accept ac3 files?
