  1. Sorry if this is the wrong section, but I chose the most obvious.

Recently I received an LG HD-DVD/Blu-Ray player and have been working out the kinks on backing up my new HD movies. After some file association problems including Nero, I removed it so that I could do a more minimalistic reinstall so that it would remove the hijacked associations that ShowTime likes to do.

I have everything sorted out the way it used to be, however, my .AC3 file association seems to be a bit screwed up. It's correctly set to open with MPC, but the graph somehow was drastically changed and it is seen as a VC-1 video file by MediaInfo and is treated as such by every application I use. If it's within an AVI or MKV container, then it works perfectly fine - split by Haali and decoded by AC3Filter. If it's an .ac3 by itself, it is picked up by the Ligos MPEG Splitter. I have no idea where this came from as I install codecs only as needed and I pretty much keep to ffdshow, AC3Filter, and Cyberlink for DVD/HD-DVD.

In short, I have no clue how to repair my .ac3 file graph so that it is permanently corrected. I can do it in graphedit, but that is not a permanent solution (unless there are options I'm not aware of to do so).

    Thanks,

    Jon

  2. Solved my problem...and I hate myself for not checking it first. Apparently my AC3 file was partially corrupted. I only found out because I inadvertently tried loading another one that was not corrupt.
