  1. I tried playing an AVI (Dark Angel ep. 221 Freak Nation to be exact) and something prompted me to download the Microsoft Audio Codec. Of course I clicked accept, but then nothing happened.

I used a whole bunch of different programs to open it but there was still no sound, and VirtualDub said I would need the Microsoft Audio Codec.

I went to Microsoft's site and searched for it and there were no matches. Where can I find this codec then?

if there is any unknown codec required it always searchs MS site first (wonder who tracks that? )

is it a ac3 audio perhaps on that avi ? or ogg ?

non of those will be on the MS site ..

  5. I tried that program and it said I had the necessary audo codecs installed, but NOT div3.

I have the newest DivX installed on my computer, so why would I need div3?
