  1. Hi

I'm a Newbie. My question is if you can burn mp3 files with menus on a DVD-r and use it on a regular DVD desktop player who can play mp3 music on cd. If so... With program do you think is the best. I prefer freeware programs.

  2. With menus, no, never heard of that being possible. MP3's as data on a DVD just like on CDR, I believe one or two players support this but most don't. Main reason being is as soon as they see DVD media, they assume DVD video and only look for the relevant files, not for MP3's. So unless you have one of the few players that support this you are out of luck.

You could always produce a DVD-Video with just menus (no video) each menu having a seperate background audio track. In This case your audio would have to be mp2, Ac3 or PCM (uncompressed) but it should work on all settop players that can read the recordable DVD discs.

  3. hi,

i have DAV-c770 Sony DVD Dream system which plays almost all the formats VCD/SVCD/XVCD/XSVCD/CDVD/DVD/Mp3 (on cdr). the way mp3 works for me is

i Put the Mp3 in a CD with as a data CD with a drictory structure like

    Film/ or albul name
    1. song1.mp3
    .........
    directory 2
    ...............
    directory 3
    ...............

so when i Play the cd it palys and when i use the Display function on the repote it displays the directory structure and i can select tracks from there.
