  1. I am converting an AVI to SVCD with TMPGenc. After the conversion I only have audio. I don't get any video.

I can play the original AVI with Windows Media Player, so i guess I have the codecs (NIMO) working properly.

    Can anyone please help?

    Thanks,

Have you installed a mpeg2 codec(media player does not play mpeg2(svcd) by default) ? Or try play it with windvd/powerdvd?
    www.vcdhelp.com/play#svcd

    if that doesnt help
Did you try change the directshow prirority in tmpgenc?
    www.vcdhelp.com/tmpgenc#problems
And check that you see the video if you select File->Preview before encoding.

    Thanks for your fast reply,

I am not sure about the mpeg2 Codec.... I can play mpeg files, but I don't know weather it is mpeg2. I am a new new newbie 8)

I can not play the converted mpeg file with powerdvd. It also does not play in my dvd player. My dvd player can play svcd files. I have tested this with the svcd test file on this site.

  4. I had the exact same problem, and it was resolved by changing the directshow priority, as MadSaid suggested. Hope this helps.
