  1. I got two computers. one is an Athlon 700 with a generic no name 10x DVD rom, and ati rage fury pro card. My other computer is a Pentium III 600 with a Toshiba 8x DVD rom and no hardware decoder. Both are running on win98 SE. On my P3, I can play all my DVD's (I use powerDVD). On my Athlon, certain DVD's i can't play using powerDVD. I have to use WinDVD. Problem is, on my Athlon the video sometimes jiggles and has weird unstable video on both powerdvd and windvd. This happens on all my DVD's but they all run fine on the P3 PC. What is the problem? Can it be the generic 10x dvd drive? Help

  2. To me it sound more like Display Drivers then a DVD drive, i'd check if you got latest VIA installed and latest Display Drivers.

  4. First, make sure you have the VIA chipset If you do you can d/load the newest drivers at http://www.viahardware.com the newest display drivers will on ATIs homepage.

Don't know if Direct X matters but might want to install 8.0a just to be safe...
