  1. I have been trying to install this product and have been unsuccessful. I put the hardware in, and start Windows XP. Window XP sees the new hardware, and prompts for the installation CD. The files are copied, but Windows display a message "Can't start Hardware - Code 10". Has anyone had a similar problem?

  2. Do you have a live video source connected? I don't think the setup works properly unless you do.

  3. Yes!! I'm having the same problem with Windows 98, only it says "failed to create TV window" when I launch WinTV 2000. Can anyone help? I just dropped $150 on this piece and I really, REALLY don't want to have to return it. Anyone? Thanks much. -JM

EDIT: It makes no difference if the source is hooked up during setup.

JMTapes if newer drivers and apps don't work try change overlay mode by going to Start | Programs | Hauppauge WinTV click on Primary icon.

  9. I would like to thank everyone that helped with my problem using Hauppauge. I never got the software to work so I took it back to the store. I bought a PVR/Video software by a company called Aver. The software installed without any problems. I hooked my cable up to the card, pressed scan stations and it worked! I also recorded a show in mpeg-2 and it worked! I loaded it into Ulead DVD and created a dvd image. The quality was not bad. I guess I have nothing to compare it to since I never got ATI or Hauppauge to work. I am still testing the software for bugs. But right now it is working fine. And the best thing about this package was that it only cost me $49.95! This company has a website (aver.com)
