  1. Hi, I recently upgraded to WMP 9.0
and found out that I was unable to play MPEG-2 (SVCDs).
I could play them on the previous version.
    Will appreciate any recomendations.
    Thank You

I have the same problem even though I have all the codecs that work with the other mp versions and I added the mp mpeg2 codec.

I have the auto codec download turned on.

Does it say it needs some weird name "6" codec and tell you to push a non-existant Web Help button?

I have been using windvd which is great but it still bugs me that wmp won't play mpg files.
There's not much to do but then I can't do much anyway.

HA HA. Join the club (including me) who downloaded this stupid program. Only way out now is to do some kind of autogoback in windows. Or the logical way is to reformat your HD and start all over. I heard that if you just install windows then immediately install wmp9 then after you install all your programs that you dont delete any programs that the mediaplayer will work. As for me I am gonna reinstall everything and start all over. For now just go to run and type in mplayer2 and use this mediaplayer.
