    why can't I open my .DAT in wmp? I have tryed rename to .mpg doesnt work. I have nimo light installed.. what to do?
    I have wmp 7.01 installed on win2000... I know the file works cus I tried opening it on another comp and it worked. wmp would play it on that computer.. is it some kind of codec I have to install?

    It could be an mpeg2 and you are missing the codec.

    Look on the left of this panel at other...tools...codecs... there is one there that says it is for use with wmp.

    if you got this from P2P then its an incomplete download of a file.
    There's not much to do but then I can't do much anyway.
