  1. Here is a funny one. I've captured last night a live concert from MTV-france. (Bruce Springsteen) The captured file is 702X576 PAL 25 fr/s. 3.2 Gbyte +/- 2.5 hr

So to burn this on DVD-R i need to resize it to 720x576.

    Simple enough eh!

With DVD2AVI i've demuxed it in two separted files for audio and video, than i've saved the project and loaded this into TMPGenc12a. With the DVD PAL template and some minor changes in the VBR settings i started the encoding. And after 26 hour it was finished

    System ? P4 1800 Mhz

    What went wrong ?

    702? or 704?

    704x576 is a valid resolution for DVD's.

  3. It is 702*576. Since i am using Spruce up it must be 720x576 for PAL DVD

  4. With Highest search precision it doesn't sound too long for 150min source and that res.

Noise filters will also add huge amounts to the process time. Try using CCE. It leaves TMPGenc in the dust for speed.

You can download a demo version, but it will stick a logo on your finished project.

or still use tmpgenc and use avisynth for your filters. No need to spend money on cce.

Even with using avisynth in TMpeg it will still take to flipping long.

Give CCE a go, and search the web for the what ya need, if ya know what i mean.

  8. I've tried cce 2.5. It is faster and with a better picture quality, but it is not possible to resize.

This is what i do right now. Since i own the dv500 DVD i use FlaskMPEG to convert the file to 720X576 with the pinnacle dv codec. This is a bit faster than TEMPGenc but i end up with a file i can load into Premiere to do some editing. Removing ads and other not wanted parts. Then from premiere i use a frameserver and cce2.5 to create the final movie.

A lot of work but the final resultis great.

  9. You can resize, trim your clip without having to decompress your MPG2 into another format and use all the filters that TMPGEnc has with AVISynth. AVISynth + CCE = TMPGEnc on steroids.

CCE will resize for you. Just select 'DVD Compliant' for 720x480, Half vertical for 352x480, or half horizontal for 240 (352x240). If you need to letterbox, or somesuch, use avsynth, and serve to CCE. Depending on your CPU speed, you can easily exceed 1x encoding speed. TMPGenc is simply too slow.

tuco1979, there is a demo version for CCE. You should give it a try. There are also other downloadable options for CCE. You should check into those as well.

I am aware of the demo for cce and I have used it. I just don't have the cash to buy it. If you compare cce and tmpgenc without taking price into consideration, then cce will win the speed contest.
