I'm new to video editing and want to transfer my digital 8 videos to cd. I'm looking at Adaptec's FireConnect 4300 which comes with the card, firewire cable, and MGI VideoWave4 digital video editing software. Is this a good way to get started for basic video editing or should I look elsewhere? Also - How many minutes of video can you get on a standard 700MB CD-R, or do I need another type of disk?
Thanks,
Jeff

I am also new in DV editing. I plan to purchase Adaptec Fireconnect 4300 along with JVC GR DVL 120U Camcorder. Iwould like to know whether this particular firewire card will work with Ulead products such as Video Studio, DVD Workshop, DVD Movie Factory etc. ADS Pyro DV4300 card comes with the above mentioned softwares. But, I don't want to purchase ADS as already possess the softwares. Hence, I am keen for Adaptec. Kindly let me know about Adaptec's compability with Ulead products.
