Anyone have a fix for the audio static that is encountered when using AIW 8500dv? Haven't tried other programs to capture but when I use the MMC 7.7 I always get static in the audio. I checked with ATI and they are aware of the problem. On their web support page they mention making some changes in the bios but it didn't work for me. Is there any programs that can take the audio static out of avi files? My system is as follows:
AMD XP 1.73 cpu
Soyo Dragon Platinum
Cmedia sound card (built in sound)
AIW 8500dv video card
2, 100gig 7200rpm hard drives.
512 memory
Thanks for any help in advance.

Hi,
I have the AIW 8500dv also.
I only notice a slight 'ticking' sound in the background when there is complete silence on the input.
How bad would you say the static is that you're experiencing? Does it actually impede over the top of other audio?
Ian.

No, it is just backround static. But it is quite noticeable. ATI said they would fix it in there next release of MMC. Who knows when that will be?
