  1. Hi,

    I have interlaced MPEG-2 video with very high variable bitrate -
    average ~9Mb/s, max more than 10Mb/s. I want lower bitrate
    to half of original (average ~4.5Mb/s, max up to ~6Mb/s) with
    MINIMUM QUALITY LOSS.

    What is the best (i.e. MINIMUM QUALITY LOSS) way to do it:
    1) Reencode by TMPGENC;
    2) Reencode by built-in Video Studio 6 mpeg encoder (MPEG.now);
    3) User REMPEG utility;

    May be other ideas?

    Thank you all in advance, Mark.

  2. I recommend CCE SP, which is fastest and best MPEG-2 encoder available, although it is challenged by other newcomers. It is still the fatest and perfect for re-encoding. Don't use some no-name encoder.

    Definately, CCE if you can get it. If not, use TMPGenc. I've also had some luck on REMpeg, and the speed isn't too bad.
    Impossible to see the future is. The Dark Side clouds everything...
