  1. Ok, is there a way after re-encoding a dvd with CCE and DVDMaestro to keep the origanal menus and extras.

This is what i have done so far, i use CCE to re-encode the movie (at a size i know everything will fit back on the DVDR), then DVD Maestro to re-author the dvd.

Then I copy all the files from the origanal dvd to the hard drive, but leave the film vobs out and replace them with the ones DVDMaestro creates. This is where i get lost.... do i use ifoEDIT or IfoUPDATE? could you explain in detail the one i have to use and how to use it. I know how to use IfoEDIT, so you dont really have to explain it that well, but i have been reading about, I have to use ifoupdate (never used before) so any help would be greatfull. Im backing up windtalkers btw. I tried to do a successful backup with menus but when i put it in the dvd player it just hangs on title 5 at the very begining before the dvd starts. But works fine on the PC.

    thanks in advanced

  2. ok u want to use ifo update

that actually updates the original dvd movie ifo information (Playback time, entry sector, Start sector and End sector) by using info from the newly authored movie ifo

before ifoupdate u had to manually do this

heres how to use ifo update its pretty easy,

where it says : "original ifo path" u want to load up the original MOVIE ifo(not the video_ts ifo) u ripped from the dvd

where it says: "authored ifo path" u want to load up the MOVIE ifo (not the video_ts ifo) that your authoring program made

choose a location for a backup ifo to be made

the all u have to do is click " UPDATE IFO"

u can also do a "get vts sectors" here or u can do it in ifoedit just make sure u do it before u burn

    hope this will help ya

  4. i think u should read the readme file that comes with ifoupdate...otherwise keep everything at their defaulted selections
