DVD-RW's won't play

I have a Phillips DVD711 player and it has played all the VCD's and SVCD's I have previously burned. I recently purchased a Pioneer DVR-104 to burn DVD's. I am using Ulead's DVD Movie Factory to burn the DVD's (as I had used to burn the VCD's & SVCD's). The problem I am having is that the DVD's don't always play in my player. I always get the main screen with the chapter selections but I can't get them to play. On the rare occasion in which I have gotten it to play it will only play one of the chapters. The display on the DVD player shows that a DVd is in there and even will show the different chapter numbers but the counter remains at --:--:--. Is this a problem with the authoring/burning process or is it something with the DVD player?

I'm had the same problem with an Apex AD1500. It wouldn't read a cheap no name DVD-RW. Then I bought a verbatim DVD-RW and it was a little better. The Pioneer DVD-RW were the best for me. Get a high quality DVD-RW.

Also, my DVD player reconize DVD-RW faster is I burn them with Instant cd/DVD than with nero.
