  1. I want to test authored/burned discs on a selection of various consumer set-top DVD players to determine probable compatibility, prior to delivering the job to the client. I'm thinking I'll buy 3 different brands of consumer units at 3 different retailers, such as K-Mart, Wal Mart, and Blockbuster Video, (which ever brands they happen to be selling the most of) in my geographic area (Southern California).

I'm wondering, which brands in particular would constitute a reasonable test of compatibility?

I'll be authoring in DVDit, burning on a Pioneer 104/A04 drive, onto Maxell DVD-R's.

I'd like to hear from you experts out there.

    Thanks,

    Dave Fickas

As fast as new models come out, and as many as there are... I wouldn't buy any for testig the market... You will have greater sucess with the DVD Players link on the left. They have hundreds listed and will tell you what people have been able to play...
