update Firmware? Mustek and other DVDplayers?

How can I update my firmware in my DVD player? and how can I see what firmware it is right now?! I got an Mustek DVD-V560.
One more thing, my remote control work pretty bad, you gotta hold it in a straight line to the dvd player. I mean right in the front from it. Of course I tried to change batterys but it didnt solve it. do anyone know if this is a common problem for Mustek?

Hi, I have the exact same issue with my mustek V562, I do not know if it is an issue it's certainly one of the bad points with the DVD player.

Excellent on SVCD, VCD, MP3, DVD playback could be better, sometimes cuts off half way througha a film!!

I am looking for firmware updates to accomodate DVD+RW, as I have tried everything but all I get when I pop it in the player, is it is recognized as a CD-DA disk which it spits out.

If you know where to get firmware updates for this unit, post a reply to let me know.
