  1. If I have the DVD MPEG koded file in DVD quality bitrate I can use Prassi or DVD moviefactory to burn it and make a DVD-R.

However, if I already have the Audio TS & Video TS folders and want to burn that can I just drop those two folders onto a new DVD-R to make a playable copy or are there hidden files?

    Probably a simple question!

  2. Nothing hidden: just empty AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS with IFO(s), BUP(s) and VOBs

Somewhere around here there is a guide for burning DVD's with NERO and the 2 folders mentioned. Big thing is to make sure that you use UDF format when you burn. This may not be 100% compatible with all players.
Hope is the trap the world sets for you every night when you go to sleep and the only reason you have to get up in the morning is the hope that this day, things will get better... But they never do, do they?

  4. i know u said u have a dvd encoded mpeg......but to make sure is it a mpeg or are u talking about a dvd encoded mpeg already in vob format.

if its not in vob format u need to use an authoring program to do that.

I think u need to be more specific on What u have , what kind of file, do u have separate video/audio streams, do u need to remux, what program did u encode with, do u have the ifos, bups, or oringinal vobs.

i'm just letting u know because the more info u give the better someone will be able to help u

    QUESTION:

    in NERO 5.5.9.14 when I click NEW -> DVD-Video

It appears to be making A DVD (Audio_TS and Video_TS folders)
BUT... It has ISO 9660 properties page not UDF properties.

Is this making a UDF DVD-Video?

Will DVD players recognize ISO 9660 disks as DVDs?

    gNOME...

  6. Friend,

Here is what I am doing. I have already burned DVD-R movies on DVD-R. I want to be able to share those already burned movies on my server with my family. In the SVCD days I could extract the MPEG with VCDgear and put the MPEG on my server or just extract the bin and cues for them to burn.

With DVD, no program that I am aware of can extract single file or MPEG from the already burned CD such as dexcribed above. Yes, these are home movies but my father is in is upper 50's and I want to make it easier for him to burn the DVD-R. That is similar to what we did before to create bin and cue or in theis case.... just drop the 2 folder (Audio_TS & Video_TS) onto a new DVD-R with Prassi for example.

    Do I make sense?

    Pierre!
