I have been comparing Dazzle Hollywood DV-Bridge to Sony Media Converter (DVMC-DA2). Both of these hardware DV codec boxes cost about $300. The Sony is definitely a more stable product, producing easier, glitch-free analog (VCR) to DV captures via firewire card. The Dazzle flubbed royally, with audio sampling errors, and could not handle rough spots in the video tape. The Sony does not come with any capture software. I am using DV-MainActor Capture (came with the Dazzle product and ironically works better with the Sony box). Both products use Windows or Mac DV drivers.

I wish I did the research you did before I wasted $300 on my Dazzle DV Bridge. I'm probably going to purchase the sony anyway & call the dazzle DV Bridge a $300 loss.
