  1. A card that will do the following and for the following purposes.

    - Budget £1000 (around $1500)
    - Allow me to realtime preview in Adobe Premier or at least speed them up
    - Speed up my Premiere Exports to MPEG2 format
    - Allow me to Capture from my Digital CAM
    - Allow me to Capture from a Stardard Video Player
    - Act as a MPEG2 Encoder/Decoder

    I'm using
    Windows XP Pro,
    2*7,2000 60GB HDD
    512 Mb of Memory

    Any thoughts / links / experiances most welcomed

    I would look into The Pinnacle Systems DV500. It has real-time encoding, and has MPEG2 hardware encoding. The DV500 has 1394, SVideo, and RCA in and out on it as well.

    We have these at work and they work well and will save hours in encoding!
