Hi
I'm an extremely newbie.I converted a dvd to vcd using TMPGEnc and it took about 5.5 hours the first try.I burnt it to a vcd and decided I wanted to try a couple different settings. Now I'm trying to convert it again and the program says it will take about 46 hours to run.I'm running a Pent 4 1.5 gig machine. The only thing I think I changed in the way I edited it was the
format.I went from full screen with aspect ratio 2 to just full screen. But I could be wrong.
Why would there be such a difference in encoding time from one try to the next?
Thanks

I think I figured out my problem.I don't think I had the program loaded right.I deleted TMPGEnc,reloaded it and bingo,4.5 hours to encode.

Glad you figured it out. Remember that the "quality setting" tab will have a drastic effect on the encoding length. Also, any filters that you use will also increase the encoding time.

Try encoding after a clean boot(or reboot) so your system will have more free resources.
