  2. I've only been doing this for 3 weeks but ......here you go!

Even though your burner is 2x (I have a pioneer A04), your media has to be 2x also. I keep buying cheap media so I always end up with 1x. 2X is not the same as a CD 2X.

It depends whether its single layer or double layer. Most movies are double layer, your player is single.

If you copy single layer it takes about 1hr to 1.5 hrs. 20-30 minutes to read the dvd to make an ISO file and another 40-70 minutes to burn (this is in 1x).

If its double layer it takes the same amount of time to burn, but processing time takes 4-6 hours. Read with DVD Decryptor/Convert with TMPGEnc/Author with Maestro/Burn with Nero.

Once, you make all the conversions and the DVD is in your hard drive, you can burn the DVD's with 40-80 minutes at 1X (remember I'm too cheap to buy good media).

    1 x dvd = 1.32 MB/s so 2.4 x is about 3 MB/s which mean that it takes about 25 minutes to write a full dvd(4500 MB).
