    Hi all,

so I am trying to help my sister burn a dvd from her hard drive to a dvd. she has the folder video_ts on her drive and she also has roxio easy media creator 10. I guided her to try to use the "classic" section of this software. she's running vista on her hp laptop that is as stock and full of the usual useless crapware that all or at least most of the big companies install "knowing" you NEED this junk. I am really not going to spend several hours with her trying to clean all the garbage off of this machine. I've used Roxio a bunch of years ago, I think back around version 5 or earlier, then Nero entered the picture. sure, both camps have their justified means to have either installed, but I've always been a big fan of the simplicity of Nero. I have version 6 installed on my xp desktop still, because it still works great and does what very little I ever need it to.

okay, finally, my question here is what is the easiest way for her to burn her movie using this roxio version?
Or, do you know of an easy to follow [visual] guide for someone to follow to burn a dvd movie that's on a hard drive? I've come up dry looking online. I see this version uses or at least contains MyDVD. I am unfamiliar with using this one also. heard of it, just never used it.

Thanks in advance for any help. sorry for being so verbose.
    Chuck

Honestly ? Both Roxio and Nero are so bloated and full of unnecessary and non-core features that I would not put either of them on a PC that I owned. Imgburn is free, small, and does only one thing - it burns discs. But it does it very well indeed. Install it, and use the link in the help menu if you need guides. To burn a DVD however, all you need to do is select Write Files/Folders to Disc from the opening menu, then select the video_ts folder. Imgburn will work out what setup is required, and all you have to do is click the big Burn button.
