I ripped some extra material a few days ago with SmartRipper and it worked fine... Now suddenly I tried Ripping another DVD (same region) and I could'nt open the IFO well

I tried ripping the DVD with both DVD Decrypter and SmartRipper and I also tried opening the IFO directly from the DVD-ROM and I get these two messages every time. I can open the IFO and get the Inuputsettings window and then after that when I want to proceed to the output settings this happens:

    1. Something about that the drive is not locked and that it can't be authenticated by auth.dll

I guess this does'nt really matter. I have gone pass this before and worked fine anyway, and someone said it's bacuse I have'nt played the DVD in a softwareplayer first.. so...

    2. THIS is the problem. Efter I close the first message, this turns up right away "MPEG2Dec: Could'nt initiate mpeg-2 codec" and then nothing happens.. nothin opens. I can't open the output window manually either, then it tells me to open an IFO or MPEG.

I have no idea what to do... I can watch both DVD's and MPEG-2 files in PowerDVD and some also directly with Windows Media Player so I'm sure I have the mpeg-2 codec installed.

What Should I do? It worked fine a few days ago.
    Thanx/

    WUT???

So we are the only ones with this problem and noeone knows WHY.. hard to believe... there must be a way o ffixing this... I mean it worked a few days before.

Do you mean you can't encode anything at all wanymore with DVDx?

I tried with FlaskMPEG and that worked fine so this must be a DVDx problem not acodec problem at al... maybe a Bug bug w2k?

    Have you tried earlier versions?
    Thanx/

Aha... that would explain why the other DVD the other day was okay..

Does DVDs have different Mpeg-2 encodings? Is there several versions of Mpeg-2?

Could this maybe be a Enhances REgion Protection Problem? So it actually has to do with the firmware in the DVD-ROM.. I mean... if I upgrade my DVD to a RPC-1 firmware that does'tn give a crap about Enhanced Protection.. mayeb It'll work then?
    Thanx/
