I've been having problems with burning a few VCDs. The source file is about a 450M MPEG file. When I view the file from the computer, everything is fine on the source. The voice is perfectly in sync with the video. When I burn the VCD with the latest version of Nero I see no errors on the burn process.
The problem that I see is that when I play the VCD in my DVD player or on the computer the sound slowly gets out of sync with the video. Within 10 minutes the sound is about 1 second off. Around that time, the video skips forward a few frames and then the sound is in sync again. The whole process starts over again.
In the last VCD that I made the sound / picture did that skip reset 4 times over 42 minutes of video.
It can't be my player because it skips on both the DVD player and the computer. It must be something in the burn or conversion process. Do I need more CPU to burn the VCD? I'm runing the 5.5.9 ver. of Nero. XP no SP1, 96M of memory , 5G free of drive space, the burner is a LG 12x burner on a PII 200 HP computer.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I have a similar problem.
I used snazzi3 to capture the video from VHS.
On the computer the sync seems to be ok, but as soon I burn it on VCD and play it on the DVD or VCD player the sound is slightly off.
I burned it on two different compters, two different CD writers and have the same result.
Both times I used Nero 5.5.9 as well.
The computers where a AMD 1.4 with 256 RAM and a PIII 1.0 with 192 RAM.
So even with more power the problem seems to be there.phil
