  1. Hi all.

I've been killing myself ALL week building menus for 3 Japanese MPEG-1s that I wanted to store on 1 DVD-R. I was using SpruceUp, and built a bunch of great menu/button designs, but 1 out of the 3 MPEG-1s won't import.

After the 5 minutes it takes to import the video (the progress bar completes to 100%), a movie icon doesn't appear in the left pane like the other 2.

So I switched to DVD WorkShop which allowed my to import all the psd buttons I built, but the stupid thing won't leave the video alone! Keeps wanting to encode it. Yes, the audio and video are all DVD/VCD spec, and I've got the "don't encode if it's ok" check off.

Finally, I decided to give Maestro a shot. I knew there'd be a learning curve, but a friend of mine uses it all the time. (I borrowed it from him to try)

I've been able to import demultiplexed MPEG-1 fine, in all 3 cases. However, my psd buttons with the 3 overlays don't seem to be importable into a button. My friend can't answer this question, he's always used the button template way.

My psd buttons do more than just highlight, they have a modified version of the original button. It's part of my menu design, you highlight the movie button and it changes.

Any ideas? Please and thank you.

  2. Ok, so the psd is the menu. I've now modifed the background image to include my separate button psd.

So I've got a menu/button psd with 3 layers, background, mask and subpicture.

However when I open it in Maestro, I get the background image, and the subpicture displayed is a blue outline of either my mask or subpicture.

Meaning I only see a blue shadow of the buttons.

I want the subpicture which is more than a highlighted shade of my button, to be displyed when the cursor selects a button.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks.

did you adjust the transparancy controls for each of the layers based on state of button ? i.e. active , hover , off

you may need to change the default colors of the transparent layer controls to match your needs .. just double click on the color ...

this all of course is in the menu tab of Maestro ..
