  2. there is a DVDR hack out there you need to update the 5800 with, let me see if I got it ....... yep sure do its about 1.3 megs big zipped, you would just upzip the folder, put all the files from the folder onto a CD-R by themselves and follow the instructions from this web site....

Good luck, all 3 of my Daewoo 5800 play DVD-R and DVD+R's no problem.

    Thank You So Much
I will give this firmwear upgrade a try this time, honestly I hate to admit it but I paid someone to do this for me initially, because I did not have the time, guess I have the time now, more than likely, my firmwear was older than this link you provided me with.

Some people report that you need to flash the 5800 with the firmware from the 5700 to play DVD-R. The 5700 firmware worked for me on my 5800. The 5700 firmware also turns off macrovision permanently. My 5800 when flashed with 5800 firmware would keep turning macro backon, that was a fairly problem with the 5800.

Again Thanks For the information and suggestions, Yes you are right I have to reset the Macrovision from time to time. So far I have not tried any DVD-R Disks, only DVD+R & DVD RW, today I purchased a Maxwell DVD +R and it was funny this particular DVD would not plan in any player
I think the speed was too fast instead of the for me usual 2.4X the Maxwell is 4X, even the copy process was complete so fast I was taken a step back ! I know not to buy that speed ever again.

    Again Thanks !
