Whenever I author a DVD with SpruceUp, I notice that there is a file in the VIDEO_TS folder with a .LAY extension. I read the help file and it confused me. Is it OK to delete the .LAY file, and then burn the DVD?

I am asking because I have an odd problem. My Philips DVD953 players play SpruceUp DVD-R discs perfectly. However, my Philips DVD701 won't recognize the disc. The 701 has previously played some DVD-5 backups I made, so I know it reads DVD-R. Could the .LAY file be the culprit?

If it isn't safe to delete the .LAY file, is it at least safe to move it out of the VIDEO_TS folder so I can burn the DVD?

Maybe the .LAY file isn't the problem. I thought that it might be because my 953 players basically play ANYTHING that you throw at it.

Thanks in advance! Know I can count on the experts here!
