Burning on Nero & Playing on my DVD Player

OK - I'm using Nero 5.5 to burn MPEGs onto a CD-R. It's plays fine when I watch it on PowerDVD but not when I play it on my home theatre DVD Player! All these burns used to be fine but as of recently it's not working... Is it possible my DVD Player only plays CD-RW (which I think is what I used before I encountered these problems) or is Nero buggy or something else?
Any help would be much appreciated!

you might want to try using a different program, like vcdeasy.

if it works fine, then the problem's probably nero

for me, nero doesn't work on my pioneer home dvd player

but vcd easy works fine...

Check DVD Players section to see whether your DVD plays CDR - also you might want to try different brand (Vivastar, apparently, is most compatible with DVD players). In DVD players section you can also read what others are suggesting for your DVD player.
