Hi all.
Hope somebody can help me with this one.
1. I capture video to an AVI file using UYVY, YUY2, or huffyuv;
2. I run it through VirtualDub to apply some filters (any filters);
3. I Save the file to a new AVI file (uncompressed RGB or huffyuv);
The resulting file is about 50% larger than the original and stutters like mad when I play it (using a number of players). The stuttering is so strong that the film seems like a disjoint series of frames rather than a video stream...
If I try to encode the resulting AVI to mpeg (using any of a number of encoders) the stuttering passes through to the final result.
I can frameserve from VDub to other software. If I simply use this other software (like Tmpgenc) to save to an AVI, the odd size and stuttering pass through. If I use this other software to encode to mpeg, it works fine. But frameserving is a bad option if you're doing multiple pass vbr, so I really am looking for a solution to saving the AVI file first and then encoding it.
I have a dual boot system. Same problems happen under W98 and W2K.
Has ANYBODY seen anything like this?

When you save to a new avi file, you ought to re-use the same codecs you used for capturing or some editing codec...huffyuv captures reduces 50% of filesize lossless, so if you save it uncompressed...naturally...it will be much larger...
