problem backing up monsters inc.

i have a strange problem when i use ifoedit to backup monsters inc.
the vob files i create play fine on my computer but when i put them on a dvd-rw it pauses for 3 seconds then starts playing again having skipped. the dvd-rw even skips when i play it on the computer. does anyone know why the files play fine when they are on a the hard drive but skip when they are put on a disc. could it be because the dvd-rw? any ideas?

I'm going to do MI this weekend. I'll let you know if I have any issues with DVD-R.

i finally put monsters, inc on a dvd-r and it did'nt skip at all. my dvd-rw must be scratched.
