    Is it possible to increase the qaulity on a divx movie and still keep it in a format which is possible to just burn it onto a cd-r and play it with a stand-alone dvd player? ie if i had a 700 mb .avi divx movie but wanted to but it on two disks and make it 1400mb would that be possible?

    to increase the quality...... no. but putting it on 2 cds in svcd format with a good encode might let you keep the quality.
