    I thought, QT movies have the .mov extension. However, copy the qtreader VFAPI plugin to the TMPGEnc dir and TMPGEnc will convert it to MPEG-1/2.

    I did it, no problems at all. I can play the avi with win media player, convert with VirtualDub as well as with TMPGEnc.
    Try to open the avi in VirtualDub and have a look at the file properties.

  6. ok i finaly get the answer
    Movies captured with my FinePix Digital Camera are in Motion-JPEG format.
    i can open the movies using either the FinePix/Exif Viewer or the Apple
    QuickTime Player included on the CD-ROM that came with my
    Digital Camera. While the Windows Media Player is compatible with MPEG , it is not compatible with Motion-JPEG.

    Hello, saw your post re the s602. I just bought one and had the same concerns. Are you using TNG to encode with the new codex. If so where/how do you load them. I'm planning on making VCD or XVCDs as my Sony S360 does not support SVCDs. Also how/can you keep the 640x480 res when you encode to mpeg?
    tks

  8. sorry , i dont use tmgenc.. so much
    i use my cutting/editing video software to do
    all the work ( ainst Movie-Dv ) ,because less
    handling=better quality ( time saving )

    i directly drop my picture caméra footage in the
    editing software,cut,add audio...etch
    than encode it in wmv ( the original footage is not enouth
    good to upgrade to SVCD )
    i prefer to make smaal clip easy to share via internet
    gg
