  1. Could anyone help me find a software DVD player that plays VOBs from a hard drive _*PROPERLY*_?! All of these programs either can or can't play these VOBs and with the ones I've come across, the Vob-playing ones ALWAYS play the wrong audio track (and there is no way to change it!!). Someone please help.

  5. Okay, I've set WinDVD to use that drive as the default drive and put the VIDEO_TS folder into the root partition; it doesn't play it at all...?

  8. d_nimrod,

are you ripping correctly? with smartriiper/dvdencryptor select
stream copy and select the english track. If another track sits
on the default (which I think is 080) like in non-English films,
you will hear just that track on playback UNLESS you stream
rip and select just the english audio.

  9. i've ripped it with dvd decrypter. besides when i play the first vob i hear the correct audio track. but when it turns to the second vob file it switchs to another audio track in russian. how do u explain this?
btw: i've found out that u can switch audio track in powerdvd 4 (with patch). there's a button in the control panel that do the job.
i've tried it on the vob files. in the first vob it worked! i could switch to russian and german! but when i loaded the other vobs i couldnt change. when i tried it stucked the video.
I tried encoding the audio track itself to a WAV with another program called vob2audio and i managed to get the full (correct) audio track from the vob files so i guess my ripping is fine.

  12. If you've ripped the files correctly then PowerDVD 4 will play them perfectly. Just load the video_ts.ifo file.
