Hello,
I have read some of the guides and tried to convert an SVCD i have to VCD. In Tmpg enc, i downloaded the plugin for Mpeg2 and still after doing that, Tmpg gave the error of unsupported file. So the guide also said to try to use the DVD2AVI method. So i downloaded DVD2avi and made the two files as suggested. I then went back into Tpmg and it allowed me to use these two files to create the mpg for the vcd. Now, the question i have is that the original svcd was a full file, when doing the conversion in tmpg, it took almost 50 mintues. is this normal ( i did have it set to high quality)? I am just curious, maybe i did something wrong or there is an easier way? The converted mpg works perfect.
thanks so much for any help!

How many minutes depend on your original source length. So if you say 50 mins I'd say it's about right, nothing wrong with your step.
I'm glad you can make it from your own by reading the guides. -
Thanks for the reply. I figured the length of conversion was dependent on the length of the source and the quality of the output. This is an excellent site with excellent guides for people new to this stuff like my self.
